Kolkata Weather Update: Early Monsoon Brings Relief Amidst Heatwave Concerns
Kolkata is now going through major weather changes because a low-pressure area has formed in the northwest Bay of Bengal. As a result, early monsoon showers have helped to cool the city, offering needed relief from the heat we’ve endured these past weeks.
The Weather at the Moment
Temperatures: daytime highs at 88°F (31°C), evenings at 78°F (26°C)
Weather this afternoon is mostly cloudy, with showers expected in the afternoon.
A very humid climate which makes everything feel very moist.
It will be light to moderate showers this week.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) sources, there is now a low-pressure area and a cyclonic circulation up to 7.6 km. As the system moves, it is expected to bring heavy rain to parts of South Bengal.

May 29: Rain at times, High: 84°F (29°C), Low: 78°F (25°C)
May 30: Occasional rain, High: 89°F (32°C), Low: 80°F (26°C)

When the monsoon arrives earlier than expected, it is very important for the city. The weather service claims that that this year’s monsoon may come earlier—probably in late May, as the behavior of the low-pressure system depends on it. cricbrek
